Meny received the Chinese Academy of Sciences Distinguished Scholar Award (formerly known as the Einstein Professorship). As part of the award he gave lectures in several institutions in China, including the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute (SARI), China University of Petroleum in Qingdao, and Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research.
