Yanghua joined the Elimelech research group as a postdoctoral associate in January 2024. His research interest lies in technology development to achieve sustainability and resilience in the water sector. Yanghua will focus on process evaluation for low-salt-rejection reverse osmosis. Additionally, He will work on developing separation strategies to achieve selective contaminants separation.
Yanghua earned his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley under the mentorship of Prof. David Sedlak. Yanghua continued to work in the Sedlak group as a postdoctoral researcher before joining Yale. During his time at Berkeley, Yanghua studied decentralized water treatment processes using electrochemical approaches.
Outside of work, Yanghua enjoys hiking, traveling, and playing Guqin (a Chinese musical instrument).
